Website Content (Content is King) | |
Your website content will determine a lot about your site, it's popularity, its ranking and it's search engine position. A site with rich full of "right" information is worth it's weight in gold.
I have always believed that 'content is king', and it is true in every walk of life. A book is considered a good read due to it's content. An news article gains popularity due to the content and so on. So if you wish to gain the confidence of your viewer ship then have lots of well written articles on your site.
We are not all writers by trade or birth, so we need to work on it, unless you have someone write the material for you. That is certainly one option to The trick to writing is to do so from your heart, write with passion and emotion. It is easy to do so when you are well versed in the subject. So read, do research and actually experience whatever is of interest to you. Once you have done all that it will be much easier to put into words your thoughts. For instance, if you were to write about how to draw, don't you think that just reading and looking at art would not be enough, but if you were to take lessons and experience drawing and colouring using different mediums it would make your task so much lighter. I like to get my hands dirty and learn through experience, with that gained knowledge I find it much easier to put my own thoughts into words and not sound mechanical. Writing comes from passion for a subject. Another method to have content rich websites is to add articles from articles-submit sites. These articles have to be published exactly as they appear in their original format (no changes). All links and credits have to remain unaltered. You must also credit and link to the source where you found the article. This is mutually beneficial; you get an article to enrich your site with content that compliments your subject, the author and the articles-submit site get exposure and link back to their site or blog. Please read the terms of the articles-submit site and make sure you follow them. Using this technique you can have a great selection of articles on your site for your visitors and never have to write them yourself. Remember though if you want a website with your own personality then work hard and write most of your own stuff, it is a lot more fulfilling. Once in a while you can borrow some really well written articles to compliment yours.
A couple of other ideas; allow your viewers to submit their thoughts and articles to your site, setup news feeds to your site from other sources so your clients get to read the latest happenings within your industry. With news feeds you can control the source and also the exact content that feeds through. A website with quality content will not only keep the viewer ship returning, it will also get some great bonus points from search engines. Remember though it is QUALITY you are looking for NOT QUANTITY, both is a better combination, but quality should always be first. So go ahead and start to get your content together, decide on how you will present it on your site. The information must be laid out in a systematic fashion and not randomly. Again, great quality content not shown correctly will not do your site justice. Once done you are ready to tackle the exciting website creation stage. NOTE: Aricles and site content will need to be updated as the new information is available and the old gets outdated. A website always requires tunning up, it is an ongoing process. You will learn that soon enough. |
