Does AdSense Make Cents? | |
The most common element in all the discussions and questions with regards to Adsense has been, and is; "How can I make money with AdSense?" "How does AdSense actually work?", "Is AdSense free?" and "Can I make a lot of money with AdSense?"
In it's most basic form, Google AdSense is a marketing technique that allows Google to place Ads (via AdWords) on your Website. In other words; you have a Website, and you partake in the AdSense campaign (by the way it is Free) which allows Google to place advertisements on your Web page. When a visitor to your site clicks on one or several of those ads, revenue is generated of which Google gives you a portion. Google charges the advertiser in the form of PPC (Pay Per Click) costs, and this CPC (Cost Per Click) revenue is shared with you. The CPC is what the advertiser pays Google.
For a website to generate income it has to obviously drive traffic through it. The more the traffic the greater the chance of visitors clicking on an ad, the more the revenue. Can you make a lot of money using this method? Well that depends on what the advertiser is paying for his AdWords Ad campaign. Google places relevant ads on your site, so for instance if your Website was all about horses, then it would place ads of a company selling saddles, or a company that trains new horses etc. So to answer the question; if we can make money with AdSense, the answer is yes. How much money depends on your site or sites. You can have several sites with AdSense running on them, and each generating bits of money. Remember that Google frowns on websites that are created specifically for AdSense and if it notices any wrongdoing it will cancel your AdSense program and it could even have you banned. My suggestion is to write your own content, make it original. We all have something intelligent to say and share with others, so let's write about stuff we really know and care about. Our aim should be to create a Website or Blog that is purposeful, meaningful and worthy of a visit, not one whose only intention is to make money from AdSense Ads. I disagree with sites that are a copycat or have been duplicated several hundred times. Do you really think that Google Robots are that dumb as to not figure that out? Don't go and buy other peoples content or articles, they are not worth it. Google is very smart to detect these sites and it could mean trouble for you. Application for AdSense is Free. Visit Google and register an account first, then apply for an AdSense account. It may a take a day or two for Google to accept your application. Once accepted you will be provided with a special code, it is this code (along with various ad parameters) that is used to place Ads on your site. What Google helps you with is to stylize your Ads to show well on your site, thus you have choices such as size, color, text or image ads or both etc. You choose and set the parameters, it then generates an HTML code that you can insert into your Webpage in positions you feel are appropriate. You may generate different styles of ads for different pages, it is easy and quick. Google at first places it's ad willingly and immediately but does checkup on the site and the quality of it's content. Understand this; Google's loyalty is to it's users and not to your website. Quality content of a website is the most important factor for Google. So if you wish to generate income with AdSense, ensure a meaningful website with ever changing great quality content, increase traffic and you will start to see some action. You are a lot further ahead with one high quality site then three poor sites. In order to generate a following or repeated visits from viewers it is important to have original content, do not use stuff that has been copied from other sites, or articles that you have purchased on the net to create "fake" information sites. A note of caution; Do not click on ads on your own website, or have your friends or relatives do it. Google is very sensitive and actually keeps a close eye on these cheating methods. Do not encourage, cox or persuade your site visitors to click on those ads by way of giveaways prizes or any such method. The site is for them to view the legitimate content and information on the site, whilst there if they choose to click on other ads that interest them, then that is just fine. You are providing a means for your users to learn more about the subject on your site. So bottom line is this; create a meaningful site that has substance and the rest will look after itself. Of course it goes without saying that do keep adding information to your site that is relative and of interest to your viewers, which will make them come back for more.
